Abstract

Infectious viral respiratory diseases in cattle — including bovine parainfluenza-3, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, bovine viral diarrhea, and bovine respiratory syncytial virus infection — are among the most prevalent pathologies in livestock farming, causing substantial economic losses.
Currently, the foreign-origin vaccine Hiprabovis4 is the only product available on the domestic market for preventing these diseases. However, its dependence on external supply renders it an unreliable tool for controlling economically significant respiratory infections, as availability may be disrupted or even completely halted.
Thus, creating a domestic, fullfledged analogue of this vaccine is a critical task to safeguard cattle from these diseases in the Russian Federation.
The presented studies evaluated the domestic vaccine ARRIAHBoviResBRSV and confirmed its effectiveness. This paper describes the determination of its immunizing dose, route of administration, antigenicity, and safety for cattle. Testing was conducted on naturally susceptible animals, and antigenicity was assessed using an enzymelinked immunosorbent assay. The results showed that the ARRIAHBoviResBRSV vaccine induces specific antibodies against the component viruses without causing pathological changes at the injection site. The proposed immunization regimen — two intramuscular administrations of 2 mL given 21 days apart — was shown to provide stable immune protection within 35 days after the start of vaccination.
